Time to Chill

The old me would have been ranting and raving about how i lost a whole day...well, honestly half a day...because i totally messed up the complicated bag i was working on. But not today. Nosireee. I just had to laugh at myself for being in such a rush and overconfident in getting the job done. Piece sewn upside down. Seams too wide or padding too thick. No matter. It's just a mess. Humbling.

So, my friend, I'm turning off the lights and heading downstairs for a cold one. It's time to just relax and enjoy the evening with my family. Tomorrow's another day and i'll try again.

Pippi Doesn't Condone Illegal Drugs

Shortly after announcing the release of my new product line, Pippi's Pouches, I received a message from a very close family member who expressed deep concern that I had suddenly developed a horrible character flaw: That I was now promoting a product that condoned drugs.

Let me state for the record that I do not condone the use of illegal drugs. I do, however, support the legitimate and legal use of Medicinal Marijuana. According to ProCon.Org Medicinal Marjuana is currently legal in 16 states and 12 other states have proposed legislation (or are in the process of) to legalize for medicinal purposes. Not to mention, there are whole countries out there where it's fully legal.

That being said, there are an awful lot of patients out there who have a sense of style that is not consistent with what a person will typically find in "headshops" nor do they always feel comfortable with the "stigma" of shopping in such a place. Pippi's Pouches is striving to meet the need of that niche market in a conscientious, eco-sensitive, and fashionable manner.

Treasure Hunting

We went to the Bead Extravaganza in Oakland, CA on Saturday in search of new handmade treasures for our medicine pouches. There was so much talent and amazing artistry there - I can't begin to describe. These three I chose for some medicine pouches. They were made by Nightside Studios.

While in the area, we scouted some thrift stores as well and I was thrilled to find this vintage sheet from the 70's. It's in fantastic condition and will soon be converted to some totally mod vintage bags and pouches...
